Trips in the surroundings of the hotel

Here are some ideas for trips in the surroundings of the hoTel.:

Fonteno Valley Fonteno Valley: The Valley can be reached from the hotel on foot. Here there are several routes to go trekking or just walking, among which the most interesting ones are the following:
1. “Torès” Muletrack
2. The route to Parzanica and Vigolo
3. The rise “Doss Cargadura”
4. The route “Brugai”
5. The route “Boer”
6. The route “Noal”
Following these routes you will meet historical shepherd’s huts dating back to the 15th century. You can also go to and visit a farmhouse called “il mut” (“the mountain”) where you can see how goat’s milk cheese is prepared and buy it, if you like.

Lovere - Lovere: A lovely small town at about 9 km from our hotel, Lovere has a wonderful town centre with many boutiques and trendy shops, but it is also well-known for its historical buildings, such as the Shrine to Saints Gerosa and Capitanio and the Holy Mary’s Church in Valvendra.
A sports centre on the lake, Lovere offers both an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool to sports fans.
Besides, you can rent a rowing or a sailing boat with or without the crew, and you can have windsurfing or sailing lessons at the excellent A.V.A.S. school.
Lovere by night is a lively meeting point with its bars, pubs, bingo hall, discos, and many others delightful spots on the lakeside.
Those for who shoppng is paramount will enjoy the great open-air market that takes place on Saturdays.

Pisogne - Pisogne Near Lovere, Pisogne is a small town renowned for its church with frescoes of the great painter Romanino.
Going uphill, there is a Valley, Val Palot, where you can go mushrooming and find pore mushrooms.

Monte Isola - Monte Isola The greatest lake island in Europe, Monte Isola is in the middle of Lake Iseo.
You can reach it by ferry-boat leaving from Riva di Solto and, once on the island, you can rent bicycles and tandems or have a walk up to the top where there is an interesting shrine to visit.
Some strands are scattered along the coast and the water has a mild temperature so that we can enjoy a lovely swim.
You can go fishing or do some shopping, as you can find hand-made hammocks and straw bags on the island.

Cislano’s Pyramids - Cislano’s Pyramids: Covering 20 km from the hotel you will get to a place called Zone. If you park the car here and walk downhill for about 20 min., you can admire the amazing Cislano’s earth pyramids. A really appreciated visit!

- Zone’s “bosco degli gnomi” (“Gnomes’ wood”): While you are in Zone, by a short walk you can reach the “Gnomes’ wood”, a path through the woods where you will see and take a picture of 44 characters: fairies, gnomes, dinosaurs, bears, owls... Trunks are carved into the shape of the various creatures - they are really impressive wood-carvings! If you are lucky, you could bump into the artist, the woodcarver called “the red-haired”, absorbed in creating new characters in his hut.

Capo di Ponte - National Park of Rock Carvings Capo di Ponte - National Park of Rock Carvings: A wonderful park to visit with more than 40,000 rock carvings dating from the Neolithic until the Roman Age, an open-air museum, an outstanding historical document of the ancient inhabitants of the region Valcamonica, the “Camuni”.

Darfo Boario Terme and “Archeopark” Darfo Boario Terme and “Archeopark”: 25 km from the hotel there is a pretty town, Boario Terme, known for its hot springs. If you like, you can drink the water and go for a walk in the park, while during the summer you can listen to concerts of live music and dance.
The “Archeopark” is also worth a visit: it is a park where the life and work of prehistoric men and women are shown. It is a leap into the past and guided tours are also possible. In addition, you can take part in workshops where you can work clay, use flywheel drill or bow drill, grind corn, make drawings of rock carvings. Excellent!

Lake Endine Lake Endine: 5 km only downhill from the hotel, you come across another lake, lake Endine, where you can have a swim, rent a pedalo boat, have a ride around the lake or just go to the “Casa del Pescatore” (The Hut of Fishermen) where you can sunbathe or fish – here you will find all the necessary equipment!

San Defendente: It is a tiny church on the top of a mountain not far from the hotel. You can just walk there through a lovely path and, once on the top, you will enjoy a breathtaking view over the whole lake Iseo.

The surroundings of the hotel really offer a variety of places to visit, including the town of BERGAMO. It is 40 km far away, but it is undoubtedly worth a visit for its famous “High” or Upper Town surrounded by walls, a real masterpiece of history! You can also go and see the town of Brescia or the nearby Lake Garda... Well, everybody finds what they are looking for.

However, if you just want to relax, you don’t even need to leave the hoTel.: here there are chaises at your disposal, inviting you to linger while enjoying a wonderful view over the lake and reading one of the many books from the hotel’s library (in various languages).
